Carehouse, a cooperative ministry of participating churches in Sylacauga, helps struggling families with food and clothing assistance, based on need. The Carehouse is located on the corner of Broadway and West Spring Street. First Presbyterian Church is proud to support this ministry by leasing the building to the organization for $1 per year.
Caregiver Support Group, hosted by the Coosa Valley Senior Behavioral Health Center. A support group for caregivers of loved ones with dementia and/or depression. This group meets the first Monday of every month at 6pm in the TCU Family Room on teh 2nd Floor of Coosa Valley Medical Center. (If a holiday happens to fall on the first Monday, then the meeting is moved to the second Monday.) Refreshments are provided for free and all ages are invited to attend. Different topics are discussed each month, all focused toward giving caregivers helpful information and a network of friends who face many of the same challenges.
